I saw the Prophet ﷺ at Suqya pouring water over his head, either from the heat or from thirst, while he was fasting. He continued fasting until he reached Kadid, then he called for water and broke his fast, and the people broke their fast as well. This was the year of the Conquest.
قال حدثنا أبو نوح قال أخبرنا مالك عن سمي عن أبي بكر بن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث بن هشام
رأيت النبي ﷺ يسكب على رأسه الماء بالسقيا إما من الحر وإما من العطش وهو صائم ثم لم يزل صائما حتى أتى كديدا ثم دعا بماء فأفطر وأفطر الناس وهو عام الفتح
Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are well known, and Abu Nuh is Abdul-Rahman bin Ghazwan, while Sumayy is the freed slave of the one who narrates from him, and both of them are among the trustworthy jurists. The hadith is found in the Sahihs, and it has already appeared at 15846.
