I said to Jundab, "I have pledged allegiance to these people," meaning Ibn Zubayr, "and they want me to go out with them to Syria."He said, "Hold back."I said, "They refuse."He said, "Ransom yourself with your wealth."I said, "They refuse anything except that I fight alongside them with the sword."Jundab said, "So-and-so told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The murdered man will come on the Day of Resurrection bringing his killer, and he will say, "My Lord, ask this man why he killed me."'"Shuba said, "I think he said, 'So He will say, "Why did you kill him?" and he will reply, "I killed him for the sake of so-and-so's kingdom."'"Jundab said, "So beware of that."
