He saw the call to prayer in a dream. He said, "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him about it, and he said, 'Pass it on to Bilal.' So I conveyed it to him and he gave the call to prayer."He continued, "Then Bilal wanted to give the call to commence the prayer, but I said, 'Messenger of Allah, I am the one who saw the dream, so I would like to give the call to commence the prayer.'"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Then you give it."So he gave the call to commence the prayer, while Bilal had given the call to prayer.

Its isnad is daif, because of Muhammad bin Amr Ansari Waqifi, whom Yahya bin Saeed declared daif, and many followed him in that. But the hadith is sahih, and it will come with a sahih chain right after the next one. This is how it appears in Abu Dawud, 1/141, no. 512, in the Book of Prayer, regarding a man giving the adhan while another gives the iqamah.
