Shuba reported that Qatada said, "He informed me," and said, "I heard Mutrafa report from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ," concerning fasting perpetually. He said, "He has neither fasted nor broken his fast," or, "He did not fast and did not break his fast."In his version of the hadith, Bahz said, "He did not fast and did not break his fast."
حدثنا يحيى عن شعبة وبهز قال حدثنا شعبة عن قتادة
عن النبي ﷺ قال شعبة قال قتادة أخبرني قال سمعت مطرفا عن أبيه عن النبي ﷺ في صوم الدهر قال ما صام وما أفطر أو لا صام ولا أفطر وقال بهز في حديثه لا صام ولا أفطر
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are well-known, and the hadith was narrated by Muslim, 2/812, no. 1159, in the Book of Fasting, chapter on the recommendation of fasting three days, and by Tirmidhi, 3/129, no. 767, who graded it hasan, and by Nasai, 4/206, no. 2379, and by Ibn Majah, 1/544, no. 1705, and by Darimi, 2/31, no. 1744. It has already appeared at 6988.
