Its chain of transmission is hasan, on account of Muhammad bin Jabir bin Sayyar Hanafi Yamami, whom some scholars ranked above Ibn Lahia. Tirmidhi graded it hasan (3/456, no. 1160), while Haythami graded it daif because of him (4/295). It is found in Tabarani's Al-Kabir (8/397, no. 8235).
