Abu Zubayr did not learn this entire story, namely that Abu Qatada came to his family and found a bowl of bread soaked in broth made with the dried meat of the sacrificial animals, and he refused to eat it. He went to Qatada bin Numan, who informed him that the Prophet ﷺ had stood up during the Hajj and said, "I had commanded you not to eat the meat of the sacrificial animals beyond three days so that it would be enough for all of you, but now I make it lawful for you, so eat from it as you wish."He said, "Do not sell the meat of the sacrificial offerings or the udhiyah animals. Eat, give in charity, and benefit from their hides. And if you are given any of their meat to eat, then eat it if you wish."
حدثنا محمد بن بكر قال أخبرنا ابن جريج قال أخبرت أن أبا سعيد الخدري و عن سليمان بن موسى عن فلان و عن أبي الزبير
ولم يبلغ أبو الزبير هذه القصة كلها أن أبا قتادة أتى أهله فوجد قصعة ثريد من قديد الأضحى فأبى أن يأكله فأتى قتادة بن النعمان فأخبره أن النبي ﷺ قام في حج فقال إني كنت أمرتكم أن لا تأكلوا الأضاحي فوق ثلاثة أيام لتسعكم وإني أحله لكم فكلوا منه ما شئتم قال ولا تبيعوا لحوم الهدي والأضاحي فكلوا وتصدقوا واستمتعوا بجلودها وإن أطعمتم من لحومها شيئا فكلوه إن شئتم
