Muraqqa bin Sayfi Tamimi informed me, testifying on the authority of his grandfather Rabah bin Rabi Hanzali, the scribe, who told him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his campaigns. Khalid bin Walid was leading the vanguard.Rabah and the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a woman who had been killed, one of those struck down by the vanguard. They stopped and stood looking at her, marveling at her build, until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with them on his mount. They parted to make way for him, and he halted over her and said, "This one was in no position to fight."Then he said to one of them, "Catch up with Khalid and tell him not to kill children or hired laborers."
