The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was being cupped on the eighteenth night of the month of Ramadan, and he said, "The one who performs cupping and the one who has it done have both broken their fast."
Its chain is hasan. I only graded it hasan even though I had previously graded each one of its narrators as sahih individually, and that was because in those cases one of them fell between two reliable narrators. Here, however, they have all come together, so the grade must necessarily drop a degree since there is no one to elevate them.As for Abu Jawwab, he is Ahwas bin Jawwab. He has some errors, though he has been deemed reliable. Ammar bin Raziq was approved of and accepted by many, though some criticized his memory. Ata bin Saaib became confused toward the end of his life. In any case, the hadith has already appeared at 15772.
