I gave my pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ along with my father and my grandfather. He proposed marriage on my behalf and married me off, and I once brought a dispute before him.My father Yazid had taken out some gold coins to give in charity and left them with a man in the mosque. I took them and brought them to him, but he said, "By Allah, I did not intend them for you."So I took the matter before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said, "Yazid, you have what you intended, and Mughn, you may keep what you took."
حدثنا مصعب بن المقدام ومحمد بن سابق قالا حدثنا إسرائيل عن أبي الجويرية أن
بايعت رسول الله ﷺ أنا وأبي وجدي وخطب علي فأنكحني وخاصمت إليه فكان أبي يزيد خرج بدنانير يتصدق بها فوضعها عند رجل في المسجد فأخذتها فأتيته بها فقال والله ما إياك أردت بها فخاصمته إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال لك ما نويت يا يزيد ولك يا معن ما أخذت
Its isnad is sahih. Musab bin Miqdam Khathami, their client, Abu Abdullah Kufi, was deemed reliable by them despite some discussion of his memory according to Muslim. Ahmad paired him with Muhammad bin Sabiq Tamimi, Abu Jafar Bazzar, who is in a better position than Musab, and for that reason the two of them complement each other. Abu Juwayriyah Hattan bin Khaffaf is reliable according to everyone.The hadith was narrated by Bukhari, 2/138, in the chapter on zakat, "when he gives charity to his father without realizing it," and by Darimi, 1/472, number 1638.
