Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Kaab bin Malik reported,

When Allah تبارك وتعالى revealed what He revealed concerning poetry, Kaab bin Malik came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Allah has revealed concerning poetry what you know. What is your view about it?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "The believer strives with his sword and his tongue."

عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن كعب بن مالك

أن كعب بن مالك حين أنزل الله تبارك وتعالى في الشعر ما أنزل أتى النبي ﷺ فقال إن الله تبارك وتعالى قد أنزل في الشعر ما قد علمت وكيف ترى فيه فقال النبي ﷺ إن المؤمن يجاهد بسيفه ولسانه

Ahmad Shakir

Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are leading authorities. Abu Yaman is Hakam bin Nafi, and Shuayb is Ibn Abu Hamza, one of the most reliable narrators from Zuhri. The hadith was narrated by Darimi (2/280, no. 2431), Abdul-Razzaq (11/263, no. 20500), Tabarani in Al-Kabir (19/76, no. 152), Ibn Hibban (494, no. 2018, Al-Mawarid), and Bayhaqi (10/239).
