He used to relate that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When Quraysh denied me concerning my Night Journey to Bayt al-Maqdis, I stood in the Hijr, and Allah unveiled Bayt al-Maqdis before me, so I began to describe its features to them while I was looking right at it."
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن صالح عن ابن شهاب قال أبو سلمة سمعت
يحدث أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ قال لما كذبتني قريش حين أسري بي إلى بيت المقدس قمت في الحجر فجلا الله لي بيت المقدس فطفقت أخبرهم عن آياته وأنا أنظر إليه
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari transmitted it, 6/104, in tafsir of Surah Isra, as did Muslim, 1/156 no. 170, in the Book of Faith, chapter on mention of the Messiah Ibn Maryam, and Tirmidhi, 5/281 no. 3133, in tafsir of Isra, and Bayhaqi in Dalail, 2/360.
