Hasan asked Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansari, the brother of Banu Salama, about the major ritual bath following sexual impurity.Jabir replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to scoop water onto his head three times with his hands, then pour water over the rest of his body."Hasan said to him, "The hair on my head is thick, and I fear that three handfuls would not be enough to wash it."Jabir replied, "The head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had more hair and was more fragrant than yours."

Its isnad is sahih. Bashir bin Abu Bashir, the freedman of the family of Zubayr - and not "Bashr" as it appears in the printed edition - was deemed reliable by Ibn Hibban, and no one has criticized him. The hadith has already appeared at 11448.
