I went in to see Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansari, of Banu Salama, accompanied by Muhammad bin Amr bin Hasan bin Ali and Abu al-Asbat, a freed slave of Abdullah bin Jafar who was a seeker of knowledge. We asked him about performing ablution after eating food touched by fire.Jabir said, "I went out looking for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at his mosque but did not find him. When I asked about him, I was told he was at al-Aswaf with the daughters of Saad bin Rabi, of Banu Harith bin Khazraj, dividing their inheritance from their father among them. They were the first women to inherit from their father in Islam.So I set out and came to al-Aswaf, which was the property of Saad bin Rabi, and I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a cluster of palm trees that had been sprinkled with water for him, and there he was. A meal of bread and meat that had been prepared for him was brought, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate, and the people ate with him.Then he relieved himself, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution for the noon prayer, and the people performed ablution with him. Then he led them in the noon prayer.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat to finish what remained of his division of the inheritance among them until the time of prayer arrived and he had completed his task with them. They then brought back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what was left over of his meal of bread and meat, and he ate, and the people ate with him.Then he rose and led us in the afternoon prayer, and neither he nor any of the people touched water for ablution."

دخلت على جابر بن عبد الله الأنصاري أخي بني سلمة ومعي محمد بن عمرو بن حسن بن علي وأبو الأسباط مولى لعبد الله بن جعفر كان يتبع العلم قال فسألناه عن الوضوء مما مست النار من الطعام فقال خرجت أريد رسول الله ﷺ في مسجده فلم أجده فسألت عنه فقيل لي هو بالأسواف عند بنات سعد بن الربيع أخي بلحارث بن الحارث بن الخزرج يقسم بينهن ميراثهن من أبيهن قال وكن أول نسوة ورثن من أبيهن في الإسلام قال فخرجت حتى جئت الأسواف وهو مال سعد بن الربيع فوجدت رسول الله ﷺ في صور من نخل قد رش له فهو فيه قال فأتي بغداء من خبز ولحم قد صنع له فأكل رسول الله ﷺ وأكل القوم معه قال ثم بال ثم توضأ رسول الله ﷺ للظهر وتوضأ القوم معه قال ثم صلى بهم الظهر قال ثم قعد رسول الله ﷺ في بعض ما بقي من قسمته لهن حتى حضرت الصلاة وفرغ من أمره منهن قال فردوا على رسول الله ﷺ فضل غدائه من الخبز واللحم فأكل وأكل القوم معه ثم نهض فصلى بنا العصر وما مس ماء ولا أحد من القوم
