I witnessed the Eid al-Adha prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the prayer ground. When he finished his sermon, a ram was brought to him, which he slaughtered with his own hand, saying, "In the name of Allah, and by Allah. Allah, this is on my behalf and on behalf of those of my community who did not offer a sacrifice."
حدثنا سعيد بن منصور حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن عن عمرو بن أبي عمرو عن المطلب بن عبد الله
شهدت الأضحى مع رسول الله ﷺ بالمصلى فلما قضى خطبته أتى بكبش فذبحه بيده وقال بسم الله وبالله اللهم إن هذا عني وعمن لم يضح من أمتي
Its isnad is hasan, despite the use of "an" by Muttalib bin Abdullah bin Hantab, because he was corroborated by someone else, and his having heard from Jabir has been established ﷺ. This hadith has appeared many times before in similar form. See 14773 and its cross-references.
