Umm Salama asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to be cupped, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Abu Tayba to perform the cupping on her. The narrator said, "I believe he was either her foster brother or a boy who had not yet reached puberty."
حدثنا حجين ويونس قالا حدثنا الليث بن سعد عن أبي الزبير
أن أم سلمة استأذنت على رسول الله ﷺ في الحجامة فأمر رسول الله ﷺ أبا طيبة أن يحجمها قال حسبت أنه كان أخاها من الرضاعة أو غلاما لم يحتلم
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Muslim 4/1730, no. 2206, in the chapter on greetings, "Every disease has a remedy." Also in Abu Dawud 4/62, no. 4105, in the chapter on clothing, "The slave looks at hair," and Ibn Majah 2/1152, no. 3480, in the chapter on medicine, "Cupping," and Hakim 4/210, who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
