When they were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Medina and he sent the sacrificial animals, whoever among us wished entered into ihram, and whoever wished refrained.
حدثنا حجين ويونس قالا حدثنا الليث بن سعد عن أبي الزبير
أنهم كانوا إذا حضروا مع رسول الله ﷺ بالمدينة فبعث بالهدي فمن شاء منا أحرم ومن شاء ترك
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Nasai, 5/174, no. 2792, in the chapter on Hajj, whether one enters the state of ihram when garlanding the sacrificial animal.
