The Prophet ﷺ said, "Faith belongs to the people of Hijaz, while hardness of heart and harshness are found among the loud-voiced people who tend cattle, the people of the East."
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا أبو عوانة عن أبي بشر عن سليمان
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال الإيمان في أهل الحجاز وغلظ القلوب والجفاء في الفدادين في أهل المشرق
Its isnad is sahih. The hadith was narrated by Muslim, 1/73, no. 92, in the Book of Faith, chapter on the varying degrees of the people of faith. And Ibn Hibban, 574, no. 2310, in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the merit of the people of Hijaz.
