The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Madinah will be abandoned by its people while its fruit is ripe. The wild beasts and birds will eat it."The people asked, "Then who will eat it, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "The wild beasts and the birds."Abu Awana said, I was told that Abu Bishr said, "It was in the writing of Sulayman bin Qays."

Its isnad is sahih. Yahya bin Hammad is trustworthy, and he is the son-in-law of Abu Awana. Abu Awana is Waddah al-Yashkuri. Abu Bishr is Walid bin Muslim al-Anbari. Sulayman bin Qays is al-Yashkuri. This has already preceded with similar wording, and it appears in Bukhari 3/27, in the chapter on Umrah, "Whoever Turns Away from Madinah," and in Muslim, in the chapter on Hajj, "On Madinah When Its People Leave It."
