When Ziyad's lineage was claimed, I met Abu Bakra and said to him, "What is this that you people have done? I heard Saad bin Abu Waqqas say, 'My own ears heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, Whoever claims as his father in Islam someone other than his real father, knowing that he is not his father, paradise is forbidden to him.'"Abu Bakra replied, "And I too heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

لما ادعي زياد لقيت أبا بكرة قال فقلت ما هذا الذي صنعتم إني سمعت سعد بن أبي وقاص يقول سمع أذني من رسول الله ﷺ وهو يقول من ادعى أبا في الإسلام غير أبيه وهو يعلم أنه غير أبيه فالجنة عليه حرام فقال أبو بكرة وأنا سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hushaym is Ibn Bashir. We have kept what appears in H and in H and K as Hisham, but that is an error, for none of Ahmad's teachers who are named Hisham narrated from Khalid Haddan.Khalid is Ibn Mihran Haddan, and he is trustworthy and narrated many hadiths. Abu Uthman is Nahdi. Muslim narrated the hadith in 1:33 from Amr Naqid from Hushaym bin Bashir from Khalid Haddan. See Nawawi's commentary 2:51-53. Bukhari also narrated it, as noted in Dhakhair al-Mawarith 2075.Abu Bakra is the well-known companion, whose name was Nufay bin Harith bin Kaldah. He was the maternal brother of Ziyad bin Abih, their mother being Sumayyah, a slave woman of Harith bin Kaldah.
