Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in the year of the Conquest, "Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of pigs, carrion, wine, and idols."A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the fat of carrion, since it is used to coat ships, treat hides, and fuel lamps?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "May Allah destroy the Jews. When Allah forbade them the fat of carrion, they melted it down, sold it, and consumed its price."

حدثنا أبو عاصم الضحاك بن مخلد عن عبد الحميد بن جعفر قال أخبرني يزيد بن أبي حبيب أن عطاء كتب يذكر أنه سمع

جابر بن عبد الله يقول

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول عام الفتح إن الله عز وجل ورسوله حرم بيع الخنازير وبيع الميتة وبيع الخمر وبيع الأصنام وقال رجل يا رسول الله ما ترى في شحوم الميتة فإنها يدهن بها السفن والجلود ويستصبح بها فقال رسول الله ﷺ قاتل الله يهود إن الله لما حرم عليهم شحومها أخذوه فجملوه ثم باعوه فأكلوا ثمنه
