Jabir reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the dogs of Madinah be killed. Ibn Umm Maktum came and said, "My house is far away, and I have a dog." So he was granted a concession for a few days, but then he ordered that his dog be killed as well.

أمر رسول الله ﷺ بكلاب المدينة أن تقتل فجاء ابن أم مكتوم فقال إن منزلي شاسع ولي كلب فرخص له أياما ثم أمر بقتل كلبه
