The Prophet ﷺ stood up to pray Maghrib, so I came and stood beside him on his left. He stopped me and placed me on his right. Then a companion of mine arrived, and we lined up behind him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer wearing a single garment, with its two ends crossed over each other.
حدثنا أبو بكر الحنفي حدثنا الضحاك بن عثمان حدثني شرحبيل
قام النبي ﷺ يصلي المغرب فجئت فقمت إلى جنبه عن يساره فنهاني فجعلني عن يمينه فجاء صاحب لي فصففنا خلفه فصلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ في ثوب واحد مخالفا بين طرفيه
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Bakr Hanafi is Abdul-Kabir bin Abdul-Majid, and he is trustworthy. Dahhak bin Uthman bin Abdullah Asadi is deemed trustworthy, and Muslim has a narration from him. Shurahbil is Ibn Saad Ansari, also deemed trustworthy, though his mind became confused toward the end of his life. The hadith has already appeared at 14068.
