I heard Jabir say, "We were with Abu Ubayda. The Prophet ﷺ had sent us out with him on a journey, and our provisions ran out. We passed by a huge fish that the sea had cast ashore, and we wanted to eat from it, but Abu Ubayda forbade us. Then afterward he said, 'We are the envoys of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we are traveling in the way of Allah. Eat.'"Jabir continued, "So we ate from it for several days. When we returned, we mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, 'If any of it is still with you, send some of it to us.'"He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then took it in his own hand.
