Ubayy bin Kaab was struck by an arrow on the day of Uhud, and it hit his median vein. The Prophet ﷺ ordered that his median vein be cauterized.

رمي أبي بن كعب يوم أحد بسهم فأصاب أكحله فأمر النبي ﷺ فكوي على أكحله
