I got married during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He asked, "Jabir, have you married?"I replied, "Yes."He asked, "A virgin or a previously married woman?"I replied, "A previously married woman."He said, "Why not a virgin, so you could play with her and she with you?"I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have sisters, and I feared that she might come between me and them."He said, "A woman is married for her religion, her wealth, and her beauty. So choose the one of religion, may your hands be filled with dust."

تزوجت امرأة على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا جابر أتزوجت قال قلت نعم قال بكرا أو ثيبا قال قلت ثيبا قال ألا بكرا تلاعبها قال قلت يا رسول الله كن لي أخوات فخشيت أن تدخل بيني وبينهن فقال إن المرأة تنكح لدينها ومالها وجمالها فعليك بذات الدين تربت يداك
