A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the coming of the Hour just as the prayer was being called. After he finished his prayer, he asked, "Where is the one who was asking about the Hour?"The man replied, "I am here, Messenger of Allah."The Prophet ﷺ said, "What have you prepared for it? For it is surely coming."The man answered, "I have not prepared much for it in terms of deeds, except that I love Allah and His Messenger."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then you will be with those you love."The Muslims had not rejoiced over anything after embracing Islam as much as they rejoiced over this hadith.Anas used to say, "And we love Allah and His Messenger."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد قال أخبرنا ثابت
أن رجلا سأل رسول الله ﷺ عن قيام الساعة وأقيمت الصلاة فلما قضى صلاته قال أين السائل عن الساعة قال الرجل أنا يا رسول الله قال ما أعددت لها فإنها قائمة قال ما أعددت لها كثير عمل غير أني أحب الله ورسوله قال رسول الله ﷺ فأنت مع من أحببت قال فما فرح المسلمون بشيء بعد الإسلام ما فرحوا بهذا الحديث قال فكان أنس يقول فنحن نحب الله ورسوله
