Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ sent his maternal uncle Haram, the brother of Umm Sulaym, along with seventy men to Banu Amir. When they arrived, my uncle said to them, "I will go ahead of you. If they grant me safety so that I may convey to them the message of the Messenger of Allah, well and good. Otherwise, you will be close at hand."So he went forward, and they granted him safety. While he was relating to them what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said, they signaled to one of their men, who stabbed him with a spear that ran clean through him. He cried out, "Allah is the Greatest! By the Lord of the Kaabah, I have triumphed!"Then they fell upon the rest of his companions and killed them, except for one lame man who had climbed up the mountain.Hammam said, "I think he mentioned that another man was on the mountain along with the lame one."Anas continued, narrating to us that Jibreel came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him that they had met their Lord, who was pleased with them and had pleased them.Anas said, "We used to recite about them, 'Convey to our people that we have met our Lord, and He is pleased with us and has pleased us.' Then it was later abrogated."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ invoked curses against them for thirty mornings, against Ril, Zakwan, Banu Lihyan, and Usayyah, who disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, or who disobeyed the Most Merciful.

حدثنا عفان حدثنا همام قال أخبرنا إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة

عن أنس بن مالك

أن النبي ﷺ بعث خاله حراما أخا أم سليم في سبعين إلى بني عامر فلما قدموا قال لهم خالي أتقدمكم فإن أمنوني حتى أبلغهم عن رسول الله وإلا كنتم مني قريبا قال فتقدم فأمنوه فبينما هو يحدثهم عن رسول الله ﷺ إذ أومئوا إلى رجل فطعنه فأنفذه فقال الله أكبر فزت ورب الكعبة ثم مالوا على بقية أصحابه فقتلوهم إلا رجلا أعرج منهم كان قد صعد الجبل قال همام فأراه قد ذكر مع الأعرج آخر معه على الجبل قال وحدثنا أنس أن جبريل عليه السلام أتى النبي ﷺ فأخبره أنهم قد لقوا ربهم فرضي عنهم وأرضاهم قال أنس كانوا يقرءون أن بلغوا قومنا أنا قد لقينا ربنا فرضي عنا وأرضانا قال ثم نسخ بعد ذلك فدعا عليهم رسول الله ﷺ ثلاثين صباحا على رعل وذكوان وبني لحيان وعصية الذين عصوا الله ورسوله أو عصوا الرحمن
