Anas bin Malik reported,

When the verse "Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet" [Hujurat 49:2] was revealed, Thabit bin Qays stayed at home. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ missed him and said to Saad bin Muaz, "Abu Amr, what is the matter with Thabit bin Qays? Has he fallen ill?"Saad replied, "He is my neighbor, and I do not know of any illness afflicting him."So Saad went to visit him and mentioned to him what the Prophet ﷺ had said.Thabit said, "This verse has been revealed, and you all know that I was among those who raised their voices the loudest over the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I am surely among the people of the Fire."Saad mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Rather, he is among the people of Paradise."

حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد قال أخبرنا ثابت

عن أنس بن مالك قال

لما نزلت {يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا ترفعوا أصواتكم فوق صوت النبي} قال قعد ثابت بن قيس في بيته ففقده رسول الله ﷺ فقال لسعد بن معاذ يا أبا عمرو ما شأن ثابت بن قيس لا يرى أاشتكى فقال ما علمت له بمرض وإنه لجاري فدخل عليه سعد فذكر له قول النبي ﷺ فقال قد علمت أني كنت من أشدكم رفع صوت على رسول الله ﷺ وقد نزلت هذه الآية وقد هلكت أنا من أهل النار فذكر ذلك سعد للنبي ﷺ فقال بل هو من أهل الجنة
