The sister of Rabi, Umm Haritha, wounded another person, and the matter was brought before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Retaliation, retaliation."Umm Rabi said, "Messenger of Allah, will retaliation be taken against so-and-so? By Allah, no retaliation shall ever be taken from her."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Glory be to Allah, Umm Rabi. It is the Book of Allah."She replied, "By Allah, no retaliation shall ever be taken from her."She kept refusing until they accepted blood-money from her. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the servants of Allah are those who, if they were to swear an oath by Allah, He would fulfill it for them."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال أخبرنا ثابت
أن أخت الربيع أم حارثة جرحت إنسانا فاختصموا إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال رسول الله ﷺ القصاص القصاص فقالت أم الربيع يا رسول الله أيقتص من فلانة لا والله لا يقتص منها أبدا قال النبي ﷺ سبحان الله يا أم ربيع كتاب الله قالت لا والله لا يقتص منها أبدا قال فما زالت حتى قبلوا منها الدية فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن من عباد الله من لو أقسم على الله لأبره
