The Prophet ﷺ was at the home of one of his wives when another of the Mothers of the Believers sent over a bowl containing food. The wife whose home he was in struck the servant's hand, and the bowl fell and broke into pieces. The Prophet ﷺ picked up the two broken halves, fitted them together, and began gathering the food back into it, saying, "Your mother has become jealous, your mother has become jealous."He told the people, "Eat," and he detained the messenger until the other wife brought her own intact bowl. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ handed the intact bowl over to the wife whose bowl had been broken, and left the broken one with the wife who had broken it.

أن النبي ﷺ كان عند بعض نسائه فأرسلت إحدى أمهات المؤمنين بقصعة فيها طعام فضربت يد الخادم فسقطت القصعة فانفلقت فأخذ النبي ﷺ فضم الكسرين وجعل يجمع فيها الطعام ويقول غارت أمكم غارت أمكم ويقول للقوم كلوا وحبس الرسول حتى جاءت الأخرى بقصعتها فدفع القصعة الصحيحة رسول الله ﷺ إلى التي كسرت قصعتها وترك المكسورة للتي كسرت
