The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out toward Khaybar, and we reached it. In the morning, he mounted, the Muslims mounted, and I rode behind Abu Talha, my foot touching the foot of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.The people of Khaybar came out with their baskets and shovels, heading to their crops and lands. When they saw the Prophet ﷺ and the Muslims, they turned and fled, crying out, "Muhammad and his army!"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah is the greatest. Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon a people's territory, "evil is the morning of those who were warned" [Saffat 37:177]."

شاور رسول الله ﷺ إلى خيبر فانتهينا إليها فلما أصبحنا الغداة ركب وركب المسلمون وركبت خلف أبي طلحة وإن قدمي لتمس قدم رسول الله ﷺ وخرج أهل خيبر بمكاتلهم ومساحيهم إلى زروعهم وأراضيهم فلما رأوا النبي ﷺ والمسلمين رجعوا هرابا وقالوا محمد والخميس فقال رسول الله ﷺ الله أكبر خربت خيبر إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم {فساء صباح المنذرين}
