Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said on the day of Uhud, while wiping the blood from his face, "How can a people succeed who have wounded their Prophet and broken his front tooth while he was calling them to Allah?"So Allah revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [pardon] them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers" [Aal Imran 3:128].

أن النبي ﷺ قال يوم أحد وهو يسلت الدم عن وجهه وهو يقول كيف يفلح قوم شجوا نبيهم وكسروا رباعيته وهو يدعوهم إلى الله فأنزل الله عز وجل {ليس لك من الأمر شيء أو يتوب عليهم أو يعذبهم فإنهم ظالمون}
