Anas bin Malik reported,
I witnessed him, peace and blessings be upon him, on the day he entered Medina among us, and I have never seen a day brighter or more beautiful than that day. And I witnessed him on the day he died, and I have never seen a day uglier than that day.

وشهدته عليه الصلاة والسلام يوم دخل علينا المدينة فلم أر يوما أضوأ منه ولا أحسن منه وشهدته يوم مات فلم أر يوما أقبح منه
