The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A group of my nation will sail across the depths of the sea, or the depths of this sea, like kings upon thrones, or as kings upon thrones."
حدثنا أبو سلمة أخبرنا مالك بن أنس عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة
قال رسول الله ﷺ يركب قوم من أمتي ثبج البحر أو ثبج هذا البحر هم الملوك على الأسرة أو كالملوك على الأسرة
Its isnad is sahih. The hadith was narrated by all the imams in the chapter on jihad, except Muslim, who placed it in the chapter on leadership. Bukhari narrated it, 6/87, no. 2894, in the chapter on sailing the sea, Muslim, 3/1518, no. 1912, in the chapter on the merit of fighting in the cause of Allah, Abu Dawud, 3/6, no. 2490, in the chapter on the merit of fighting by sea, Tirmidhi, 4/178, no. 1645, with similar wording, saying, hasan sahih, Nasai, 6/4, no. 3171, and Ibn Majah, 2/927, no. 2776.
