He would describe the Prophet ﷺ in whatever way he wished to describe him. Then I heard Anas say, "The Prophet ﷺ was of medium height among his people, neither short nor strikingly tall. He was bright in complexion, neither dark nor pale white nor pallid. His hair was wavy, neither completely straight nor tightly curled. He was sent as a prophet at the age of forty. He stayed in Makkah for ten years and in Madinah for ten years, and he passed away at the age of sixty, with fewer than twenty white hairs on his head and beard."
Its isnad is sahih. Rabia is Rabia al-Rai. Bukhari related the hadith in 4/228, in the book of virtues, description of the Prophet ﷺ, and Tirmidhi in 4/233, number 1754, in the book of clothing, on what has been said about wearing the hair long and growing it. His saying, "nor the amhaq" the mahaq means intense whiteness.
