Abu Talha brought a measure of barley and ordered that it be prepared as food. Then he said to me, "Anas, go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and invite him, though you know what little we have."So I went to the Prophet ﷺ while his Companions were with him and said, "Abu Talha invites you to a meal."He stood up and said to the people, "Get up." So they got up. I walked ahead of him until I entered upon Abu Talha and informed him.Abu Talha said, "You have disgraced us!"I replied, "I could not refuse what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded."When the Prophet ﷺ reached the door, he said to them, "Sit down," and he entered with ten of them. When he entered, the food was brought to him. He took some and ate, and those with him ate until they were satisfied. Then he said to them, "Get up, and let ten others enter in your place," until all the people had entered and eaten.I asked, "How many were they?"He said, "They were a little over eighty," and there was still enough left for the household to eat their fill.
حدثنا علي بن عاصم أخبرنا حصين بن عبد الرحمن عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
أتى أبو طلحة بمدين من شعير فأمر به فصنع طعاما ثم قال لي يا أنس انطلق ائت رسول الله ﷺ فادعه وقد تعلم ما عندنا قال فأتيت النبي ﷺ وأصحابه عنده فقلت إن أبا طلحة يدعوك إلى طعامه فقام وقال للناس قوموا فقاموا فجئت أمشي بين يديه حتى دخلت على أبي طلحة فأخبرته قال فضحتنا قلت إني لم أستطع أن أرد على رسول الله ﷺ أمره فلما انتهى النبي ﷺ إلى الباب قال لهم اقعدوا ودخل عاشر عشرة فلما دخل أتي بالطعام تناول فأكل وأكل معه القوم حتى شبعوا ثم قال لهم قوموا وليدخل عشرة مكانكم حتى دخل القوم كلهم وأكلوا قال قلت كم كانوا قال كانوا نيفا وثمانين قال وفضل لأهل البيت ما أشبعهم
