No matter involving retaliation was ever brought before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ without him commanding pardon in it.

ما رفع إلى رسول الله ﷺ أمر فيه القصاص إلا أمر فيه بالعفو
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated the hadith in 4/169, no. 4497, in the chapter on blood money, on the Imam ordering pardon, Nasai in 8/38, no. 2784, in the chapter on qasamah, on the order to pardon, and Ibn Majah in 2/898, no. 2692.
