Anas bin Malik reported,

On the day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had his front tooth broken and his face was wounded. The blood began to flow down his face, and he started wiping it away, saying, "How can a people prosper who have stained the face of their Prophet with blood while he calls them to Allah ?"Then Allah revealed, "Not for you is the decision, whether He turns toward them in mercy or punishes them, for indeed they are wrongdoers" [Al Imran 3:128].

حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن حميد

عن أنس قال

لما كان يوم أحد كسرت رباعية رسول الله ﷺ وشج في وجهه قال فجعل الدم يسيل على وجهه فجعل يمسح الدم عن وجهه ويقول كيف يفلح قوم خضبوا وجه نبيهم بالدم وهو يدعوهم إلى الله عز وجل قال فأنزل الله عز وجل {ليس لك من الأمر شيء أو يتوب عليهم أو يعذبهم فإنهم ظالمون}
