Abu Talha was positioned in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his head from behind him to watch where his arrows landed. Abu Talha would stretch out his chest to shield the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with it, saying, "Messenger of Allah, let my chest take what would strike yours."
حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن حميد
كان أبو طلحة بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ وكان رسول الله ﷺ يرفع رأسه من خلفه ينظر إلى مواقع نبله فيتطاول أبو طلحة بصدره يقي به رسول الله ﷺ قال ويقول يا رسول الله نحري دون نحرك
