Ibn Abad reported,

Ali bin Abu Talib said to me, "Ibn Abad, do you know what the right of food is?"I said, "What is its right, son of Abu Talib?"He said, "You say, 'In the name of Allah. O Allah, bless for us what You have provided us.'"He continued, "And do you know how to give thanks for it when you are finished?"I said, "How is it given thanks for?"He said, "You say, 'Praise be to Allah, who has fed us and given us drink.'"Then he said, "Shall I tell you about myself and Fatimah ? She was the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the dearest of his family to him, and she was my wife. She used to grind with the millstone until it left marks on her hand, draw water with the waterskin until it left marks on her chest, sweep the house until her clothes were covered in dust, and tend the fire under the cooking pot until her clothes were soiled. This caused her great hardship."Then some captives, or servants, were brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said to her, 'Go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and ask him for a servant to spare you the heat of what you are enduring.' So she went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but found servants with him, so she returned without asking him."Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I direct you to something better for you than a servant? When you go to your bed, say 'Subhan Allah' thirty-three times, 'Alhamdulillah' thirty-three times, and 'Allahu Akbar' thirty-four times."She poked her head out and said twice, "I am content with Allah and His Messenger."Then he mentioned the like of the hadith of Ibn Ulayyah from Jareeri, or something similar.

حدثنا عبد الله حدثني العباس بن الوليد النرسي حدثنا عبد الواحد بن زياد حدثنا سعيد الجريري عن أبي الورد

عن ابن أعبد قال

قال لي علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه يا ابن أعبد هل تدري ما حق الطعام قال قلت وما حقه يا ابن أبي طالب قال تقول بسم الله اللهم بارك لنا فيما رزقتنا قال وتدري ما شكره إذا فرغت قال قلت وما شكره قال تقول الحمد لله الذي أطعمنا وسقانا ثم قال ألا أخبرك عني وعن فاطمة رضي الله عنها كانت ابنة رسول الله ﷺ وكانت من أكرم أهله عليه وكانت زوجتي فجرت بالرحى حتى أثر الرحى بيدها وأسقت بالقربة حتى أثرت القربة بنحرها وقمت البيت حتى اغبرت ثيابها وأوقدت تحت القدر حتى دنست ثيابها فأصابها من ذلك ضرر فقدم على رسول الله ﷺ بسبي أو خدم قال فقلت لها انطلقي إلى رسول الله ﷺ فاسأليه خادما يقيك حر ما أنت فيه فانطلقت إلى رسول الله ﷺ فوجدت عنده خدما أو خداما فرجعت ولم تسأله فذكر الحديث فقال ألا أدلك على ما هو خير لك من خادم إذا أويت إلى فراشك سبحي ثلاثا وثلاثين واحمدي ثلاثا وثلاثين وكبري أربعا وثلاثين قال فأخرجت رأسها فقالت رضيت عن الله ورسوله مرتين فذكر مثل حديث ابن علية عن الجريري أو نحوه
