Whenever he narrated a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and finished it, he would say, "Or as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said."
حدثنا معاذ حدثنا ابن عون عن محمد قال كان
عن رسول الله ﷺ حديثا ففرغ منه قال أو كما قال رسول الله ﷺ
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Awn is Abdullah, and the report was narrated by Ibn Majah, 1/11, no. 24, in the Introduction, chapter on Being Cautious in Transmitting Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and similarly by Darimi, 1/84, in the Introduction, chapter on Whoever Fears Giving Legal Rulings for Fear of Error.
