I witnessed a wedding banquet given by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in which there was neither bread nor meat. This was when Safiyyah came to be assigned to Dihya Kalbi as part of his share of the spoils, and the people began praising her. He then mentioned the meaning of it.
حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم حدثنا سليمان عن ثابت
لقد رأيت لرسول الله ﷺ وليمة ما فيها خبز ولا لحم حين صارت صفية لدحية الكلبي في مقسمه فجعلوا يمدحونها فذكر معناه
