Safiyyah came into Dihyah's share of the spoils, and people began praising her before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, "We have not seen her equal among the captives."So he sent for Dihyah and gave him what he wanted in exchange for her, then handed her over to my mother and said, "Prepare her."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed from Khaybar. When he had put it behind him, he stopped and pitched a tent over her. In the morning, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever has any surplus provisions, let him bring them to us."So one man came with leftover dates, another with leftover parched barley, and another with leftover clarified butter, until they had made a large quantity of hays from it. They began eating from that hays and drinking from pools of rainwater beside them.Anas said, "That was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for her."We set out, and when we caught sight of the walls of Madinah, we became excited and urged our mounts forward. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also urged his mount forward, with Safiyyah seated behind him. The Messenger of Allah's mount stumbled, and he fell, and she fell. No one among the people looked at him or at her until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and screened her from view.We came to him, and he said, "She is not hurt."He entered Madinah, and the young slave girls of his wives came out to look at her and to gloat over her fall.
حدثنا بهز حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة عن ثابت قال
صارت صفية لدحية في مقسمه وجعلوا يمدحونها عند رسول الله ﷺ قال ويقولون ما رأينا في السبي مثلها قال فبعث إلى دحية فأعطاه بها ما أراد ثم دفعها إلى أمي فقال أصلحيها قال ثم خرج رسول الله ﷺ من خيبر حتى إذا جعلها في ظهره نزل ثم ضرب عليها القبة فلما أصبح قال ﷺ من كان عنده فضل زاد فليأتنا به قال فجعل الرجل يجيء بفضل التمر وفضل السويق وبفضل السمن حتى جعلوا من ذلك سوادا حيسا فجعلوا يأكلون من ذلك الحيس ويشربون من حياض إلى جنبهم من ماء السماء قال فقال أنس فكانت تلك وليمة رسول الله ﷺ عليها وانطلقنا حتى إذا رأينا جدر المدينة هششنا إليها فرفعنا مطينا ورفع رسول الله ﷺ مطيته قال وصفية خلفه قد أردفها قال فعثرت مطية رسول الله فصرع وصرعت قال فليس أحد من الناس ينظر إليه ولا إليها حتى قام رسول الله ﷺ فسترها قال فأتيناه فقال لم تضر قال فدخل المدينة فخرج جواري نسائه يتراءينها ويشمتن بصرعتها
