Anas bin Malik reported,

I was sitting near the pulpit one Friday while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon, when one of the people in the mosque said, "Messenger of Allah, the rain has stopped, the livestock are dying. Pray to Allah to give us rain."Anas said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands, and I could see no clouds in the sky at all. Then He brought the clouds together.Hajjaj said, Allah brought the clouds together, and rain poured down on us.Hajjaj said, we ran for shelter until I saw even the strongest of men anxious to reach his family. We were rained upon for seven days.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to deliver the sermon the following Friday, when one of the people in the mosque said, "Messenger of Allah, the houses have collapsed, the travelers are stranded. Pray to Allah to lift it from us."He raised his hands and said, "O Allah, around us, not upon us."The clouds split open above our heads until it was as though we were in a crown, with rain falling all around us but not upon us.

حدثنا بهز وحدثنا حجاج قالا حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة عن ثابت قال

قال أنس

إني لقاعد عند المنبر يوم الجمعة ورسول الله ﷺ يخطب إذ قال بعض أهل المسجد يا رسول الله حبس المطر هلكت المواشي ادع الله أن يسقينا قال أنس فرفع يديه رسول الله ﷺ وما أرى في السماء من سحاب فألف بين السحاب قال حجاج فألف الله بين السحاب فوألنا قال حجاج سعينا حتى رأيت الرجل الشديد تهمه نفسه أن يأتي أهله فمطرنا سبعا وخرج رسول الله ﷺ يخطب في الجمعة المقبلة إذ قال بعض أهل المسجد يا رسول الله تهدمت البيوت حبس السفار ادع الله عز وجل أن يرفعها عنا قال فرفع يديه فقال اللهم حوالينا ولا علينا قال فتقور ما فوق رأسنا منها حتى كأنا في إكليل يمطر ما حولنا ولا نمطر
