The Prophet ﷺ sent me to Yemen as a judge, so I said, "You are sending me to a people while I am young in age and have no knowledge of judging."He placed his hand on my chest and said, "May Allah make you firm and guide you to what is right. When two disputants come before you, do not rule in favor of the first until you have heard from the other, for it is more likely to make the correct judgment clear to you."He said, "I continued to serve as a judge thereafter."This is the wording of the report transmitted by Dawud bin Amr ad-Dabbi, and some of the narrators gave a more complete account than others.
