A group of people from the tribes of Ukl and Urayna came professing Islam and approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They told him that they were herders, not people accustomed to settled life, and they complained about the climate of Madinah, which had made them ill. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that some camels be given to them and instructed them to leave Madinah and drink the camels' milk and urine.They set out and stayed in the area of al-Harra. After embracing Islam, they renounced their faith, killed the shepherd of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and drove off the camels.When news of this reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he sent men in pursuit of them. They were captured and brought back. He had their eyes gouged out and their hands and feet cut off, and they were left in the area of al-Harra biting at its stones until they died.Qatada said, "We have been told that this verse was revealed concerning them, 'The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger'" [Maidah 5:33].
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن قتادة
أن نفرا من عكل وعرينة تكلموا بالإسلام فأتوا رسول الله ﷺ فأخبروه أنهم أهل ضرع ولم يكونوا أهل ريف وشكوا حمى المدينة فأمر لهم رسول الله ﷺ بذود وأمرهم أن يخرجوا من المدينة فيشربوا من ألبانها وأبوالها فانطلقوا فكانوا في ناحية الحرة فكفروا بعد إسلامهم وقتلوا راعي رسول الله ﷺ وساقوا الذود فبلغ ذلك رسول الله ﷺ فبعث الطلب في آثارهم فأتي بهم فسمل أعينهم وقطع أيديهم وأرجلهم وتركوا بناحية الحرة يقضمون حجارتها حتى ماتوا قال قتادة فبلغنا أن هذه الآية نزلت فيهم {إنما جزاء الذين يحاربون الله ورسوله}
