When the Prophet ﷺ married Zaynab, Umm Sulaym sent him a dish of dates and butter in a stone bowl.Anas said that the Prophet ﷺ then told him, "Go and invite everyone you meet."So the people began coming in, eating, and leaving. The Prophet ﷺ placed his hand on the food, prayed over it, and said whatever Allah willed him to say. I did not meet a single person whom I failed to invite. They ate until they were full and then left, but a group of them stayed on and kept up a long conversation with him. The Prophet ﷺ felt too shy to say anything to them, so he went out and left them sitting in the house. Then Allah revealed, "O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, and then not so as to wait for its preparation. But when you are invited, enter" until he reached, "for your hearts and their hearts" [Ahzab 33:53].
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن أبي عثمان
لما تزوج النبي ﷺ زينب أهدت إليه أم سليم حيسا في تور من حجارة قال أنس فقال النبي ﷺ فاذهب فادع من لقيت فجعلوا يدخلون يأكلون ويخرجون ووضع النبي ﷺ يده على الطعام ودعا فيه وقال ما شاء الله أن يقول ولم أدع أحدا لقيته إلا دعوته فأكلوا حتى شبعوا وخرجوا فبقيت طائفة منهم فأطالوا عليه الحديث فجعل النبي ﷺ يستحي منهم أن يقول لهم شيئا فخرج وتركهم في البيت فأنزل الله عز وجل {يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تدخلوا بيوت النبي إلا أن يؤذن لكم إلى طعام غير ناظرين إناه ولكن إذا دعيتم فادخلوا} حتى بلغ {لقلوبكم وقلوبهن}
