The Prophet ﷺ proposed to a woman of the Ansar on behalf of Julaybib, asking her father for her hand. The father said, "Let me consult her mother."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Very well, then."So the man went to his wife and mentioned the matter to her. She said, "By Allah, no! Could the Messenger of Allah ﷺ find no one but Julaybib, when we have refused her to so-and-so and so-and-so?"The girl was in her chamber listening. The man set off, intending to inform the Prophet ﷺ of this, but the girl said, "Do you want to reject the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ decision? If he has approved this match for you, then marry me to him."It was as though her words removed the doubts of her parents, and they said, "You have spoken the truth."So her father went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "If you have approved him, then we approve him too."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, I have approved him." So he married her to Julaybib.Later, the people of Madinah were alarmed by an enemy attack, and Julaybib rode out to fight. They found him slain, with a number of slain polytheists around him whom he had killed.Anas said, "I saw her afterwards, and she became one of the most prosperous households in Madinah."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن ثابت البناني
خطب النبي ﷺ على جليبيب امرأة من الأنصار إلى أبيها فقال حتى أستأمر أمها فقال النبي ﷺ فنعم إذا قال فانطلق الرجل إلى امرأته فذكر ذلك لها فقالت لاها الله إذا ما وجد رسول الله ﷺ إلا جليبيبا وقد منعناها من فلان وفلان قال والجارية في سترها تستمع قال فانطلق الرجل يريد أن يخبر النبي ﷺ بذلك فقالت الجارية أتريدون أن تردوا على رسول الله ﷺ أمره إن كان قد رضيه لكم فأنكحوه فكأنها جلت عن أبويها وقالا صدقت فذهب أبوها إلى النبي ﷺ فقال إن كنت قد رضيته فقد رضيناه قال فإني قد رضيته فزوجها ثم فزع أهل المدينة فركب جليبيب فوجدوه قد قتل وحوله ناس من المشركين قد قتلهم قال أنس فلقد رأيتها وإنها لمن أنفق بيت في المدينة
