Anas bin Malik reported,

He walked to the Prophet ﷺ carrying barley bread and rancid fat. He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had pawned a coat of armor of his with a Jew in Madinah, from whom he had taken some barley for his family. He said, "I heard him one day say, 'Not a single saa of grain nor a saa of wheat remains with the family of Muhammad by evening,' even though he had nine wives at that time."
