Ali bin Abu Talib reported,

A slave girl belonging to the Prophet ﷺ gave birth as a result of fornication, and the Prophet ﷺ sent me to carry out the prescribed punishment on her. I found her with her postnatal bleeding not yet dried, so I returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him.He said to me, "When her bleeding has stopped, then administer the prescribed punishment on her." Then he said, "Carry out the prescribed punishments on those whom your right hands possess."

عن علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

أن جارية للنبي ﷺ نفست من الزنا فأرسلني النبي ﷺ لأقيم عليها الحد فوجدتها في الدم لم يجف عنها فرجعت إلى النبي ﷺ فأخبرته فقال لي إذا جف الدم عنها فاجلدها الحد ثم قال أقيموا الحدود على ما ملكت أيمانكم
